With one brown eye and one electric blue eye, the first thing people notice about Mick is his distinctive appearance. The second thing they notice is his incredible work ethic, says Emma. Mick lends his paws to both cattle and sheep work, over some steep country. His stamina, herding instincts, reliability and loyalty see him work independently, often travelling down the gully and over the hill to bring cattle back to Emma. Despite his hard-working reputation, Emma says he's also known for being a happy, goofy and entertaining dog.

Emma Lawrence

Emma manages the family's 'Glen Idol' and 'Creek Heights' properties in Wallabadah, NSW, on the Liverpool Plains. Together, the properties range 4000 acres and are home to up to 1500 head of cattle and 300 sheep. Emma has been working with dogs since she was seven years old, but in the last five years she has ramped up her work to breed and train dogs for other people. When you've been working with a dog, Emma says there is nothing better than the moment they start to work properly, and as a team.
