I bred Bruce myself and he was my pick of the litter. He’s been working with me for the past five years. We’re a happy little team; he’s so easy to work with and we get along well. Bruce is a big, soft and very gentle, and constantly wants to do his best when we’re working. He’s always there for me and I know I can rely on him to get the tricky jobs done. He loves being in the yard, pushing sheep up and getting them moving. He gets stuck in and goes tough, which is sometimes surprising because he's the biggest softy when we’re not working. Most of all, Bruce loves his dinner time! He’s a truly loveable dog and I think we’ve got what it takes to win this year’s competition.

I’m the livestock manager for a station in south-western WA. We run a mixture of sheep and cattle on country that ranges from grubby creekline to undulating country and some flats. I’ve been working with dogs for over 14 years and I always find them to be some of the best working companions, putting in the hard yards and always being happy to hang out. You certainly develop a close bond with your dog and it’s great to show off all they do for us through the Cobber Challenge. I competed in the Cobber Challenge a couple years ago with another dog Tiges, which was interesting to track his performance. I’m keen to give Bruce a go this year and track where he’s working his hardest – in the yards or out in the paddock.
